MMS Band Selected to Perform at National Festival

MMS BandThe Mason Middle School Symphonic Winds will perform at the 2018 Music For All National Festival, in Indianapolis during March 2018. This selection comes as result of an application submission and recordings from the spring.

This is the second time in school history that the MMS band program has been selected to perform, with the first invitation extended in 2014. Since the festival began including middle school bands, Mason is one of only 40 middle school bands nationally to receive an invitation to perform. MMS is the only middle school band from Ohio to receive an invitation to perform, and one of very few middle school bands to receive a second invitation.

“We are very appreciative of the students and directors from our 2016-2017 Symphonic Winds who helped make this opportunity possible for our students this upcoming year,” shared MMS Band Director Zach Hinson. “We are very excited for this opportunity for our students!” The ensemble is also directed by Avious Jackson and Jason Sleppy.

The Music for All National Festival is a non-competitive event that provides a place for growth, cooperative encouragement and mutual respect among music programs, students, parents, boosters and administrators. There are no ratings or rankings, which ensures that directors and their ensembles are free to stretch themselves musically and strive for innovation. This format allows for focus on growth and excellence.
