OmegaBotsMason Middle School seventh graders were a part of the First Lego League (FLL) team, the Omegabots!

Prattyush GirirajuNeev Gupta and the rest of the Omegabots team has qualified for the First Lego League North American Open Championship to be held at Legoland California in Carlsbad, CA on May 19-21.

Omegabots is a five member team of students from both Mason City Schools and Sycamore Community Schools. Omegabots earned second place at at the iSPACE District FLL Tournament on January 21. The team also placed in the Robot Design Awards at Districts, and qualified for the Ohio FLL State Tournament that was held February 5 at Wright State University’s Nutter Center.

This is the second year of Omegabots' participation in this tournament, and in their first year they made it to State. This year they worked extra hard to earn a place in the National Tournament!

According to the website, "the mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership."
