MCS Gives Back During Make a Difference WeekDuring this season of giving thanks, students, staff and families in Mason City Schools are reflecting on their blessings, and their responsibility to give back during Make a Difference Week.

Mason Early Childhood Center and Western Row jointly collected more than 3,500 food items to support their backpack programs.

Mason Intermediate collected new and gently used coats, jackets, and other winter wear items. The resulting Family Coat Drive, which was held November 6th at Grace Chapel, was a big success!  More than 35 families, approximately 150+ individuals, including our students and their families, as well as families who currently depend on the Mason Food Pantry, were helped.  Any remaining items were donated to Hope's Closet, an outreach organization supporting children in the foster care program, and The Clothing Closet at Faith United Methodist Church.

Mason Middle School's Builders Club, collected new and gently-used blankets that were included as part of the Family Coat Drive.

Mason High School's Hope Club, a community service club, organized a personal care product drive to support the Mason Food Pantry's patrons.

A very special thank you goes to each school's chairman, Grace Chapel for hosting the coat drive, and the Mason Youth Cheer/Football program for contributing to the food drive.
